Ghillie Suit Kit Instructions (taken from Ghilliesuits.com)

Tracker Kit Tips (Full Ghillie Kit directions farther below)

---------------------

There is no real order or way to add the colors. Here are a few helpful hints though.

1) Cut the netting to form the pattern of the suit, and, the hood piece. If you have the Tracker kit, the netting is 5'x4'. You need to cut the netting so you have two pieces, 1- 3'x5', the other 1'x5'. Then cut the hood from the 1'x5' piece.

2) After the netting is cut into the suit body, and you have the hood piece ready (12"x31") You need to build the Hood first.

3) Notice in the instructions that we attach the Jute thread in rows. You will use 4-5 strands of the Jute for each knot.(A knot is just an over-under, then pull tight, and hang the Jute down. Like tying your shoes before you attempt the loops. Do not do a full knot which is a over-under, then another over-under. The weight of the Jute hanging down, and the other strands that will hang down over it will keep the knot from coming untied. This also allows you to change colors in the future.)

4) When attaching the Jute thread, use one color in each knot. It is easier to grab a handful of one color and work on a row at a time. For example. Grab a handful of "X-color" Tie the first knot with 4-5 strands of this color, then tie the next knot in the same row with the same color again. Maybe tie 3-4 knots in a row, then skip 4-5 spaces and tie another 3-4 knots in a row with the same color. Then skip a few spaces, and so forth until you come to the end of that row. Now lay down that color, and pick up a handful of another color. Start to fill in the empty spaces you skipped with the previous color. When you get to the end, pick up another color and so forth until the entire row is complete. Now move to the next row. (Remember we do not skip rows when building the hood, but we do with the suit until you come to the shoulder and arms area. The reason for this is the jute is running vertical up the body and the Jute will overlap itself. As it reaches the shoulder area it starts to change from a vertical to a horizontal across the shoulders and needs a higher concentration of material for total concealment.) Now, your on the second row. If you started the first 3-4 knots of the first row with "X-color", we want to make this color move up the body in a vertical fashion, then maybe split and zig zag like branches. Picture the branches of a tree moving up, then diagonal, then splitting in two, or three to form other smaller branches. This is what you want to try to create. So, skip the first knot or two, then tie 3-4 knots in a row of the first "X-color". then do the same tie a few skip a few as you did on the first row. When the second row is complete, start the third row, and skip the first 5-6 knots, or start with a different color. This allows the first "X-color" to move vertical across the suit as it moves up the body. Again this is only an example, there is no real way to attach the material, or real order. No matter what you do, or how you do it, it will always look great.

5) NOW. Hopefully you followed the directions and did the Hood first. With the left over colors you have, divide each of these in half, and set aside. You want to have two separate piles of equal amounts of each color. The reason for this is you will reserve one half of the colors for the front of the suit, the other half for the back of the suit. This ensures you will have an equal amount of colors for each side, and not run out of a color because you used to much of one.

6) Now attach the Jute thread the same as you did the hood.

7) At this point, you should have the hood completely filled with the Jute thread, and the main suit body. All the outside edges of the suit and hood must also have the Jute thread attached to it.

8) Lay the hood piece on the table Netting side facing up. Fold it in half so you have the two 12" sides together, and the 31" sides are now 15" long. The netting should now be on the inside, and the Jute facing you on the outside. The hood should now be 12"x15 1/2". On one of the 15 1/2" sides, use the Jute that is tied on the edges to "Seam" the two edges together, or join the two netting edges together. You are going to tie a full knot here.

9) You should now be ready to attach this hood piece to the suit. The "Seam" you attached earlier is going to be attached to the collar on the suit so it is in the middle of the back of your neck. You will be attaching the hood to the collar of the suit the same way you "Seamed the collar together. That "Seam" in the middle of the hood will be "Seamed" to the middle of the collar in the rear so you should have 12 knots on each side of that hood "Seam" to attach to the collar. Start at the middle of the collar, in the rear of the suit. Tie one or two knots so the hood is partially attached. Now, work on one of the hoods 12" sides to attach its edge to the collar working your way around the collar to the front of the collar. When that is done, do the same for the other 12" side. If the collar was cut properly, as you "Seam" the hood to the collar netting squares, the 12" on each side of the hood "Seam" will wrap around the collar so when you reach the front of the collar on both sides, you should have 4-5 netting squares on the collar that are left over, or open. *This part is hard to explain so if you don't get how to attach the hood, or build it, or attach it. Pull out a sweat shirt that has a hooded collar and take a look at it.I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance, you can call us toll free at 877-510-0147

Full Ghillie Kit Tips

-----------------------

There is no real order or way to add the colors. Here are a few helpful hints though.

1) Cut the netting to form the pattern of the suit, and so you have your hood piece. If you have the Full Ghillie kit, the netting is 5'x9'. You need to cut the netting as per the diagram that came with your kit. Notice in the diagram you will be cutting the four corners off to form a Plus sign? Reserve one of these extra netting squares for the hood construction.

2) After the netting is cut into the suit body, and you have the hood piece ready (12"x31") You need to build the Hood first.
